Nutritional Value of Plantains

Plantains are a staple in many tropical cultures, such as the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. They are also found in certain African, Asian, and Indian cuisines. In appearance, plantains resemble bananas but are larger in size, harder to peel, and less sweet than you might expect.

FGBorrowing treand in Nigeria from 20 years ago

.

Within two weeks, the senate approved three different loan requests by President Muhammadu Buhari.

On July 7, 2021, the upper chamber approved a loan request of N2.343 trillion, approximately $6 billion and another $8.3 billion and €490 million.

The overall public debt is the total debt accrued by federal, states, and the FCT from local and international lenders.

Of the N33.1 trillion, the federal government alone borrowed N26.91 trillion — this includes the FGN bonds, Sukuk, green bonds and Euro bonds.

Finally, after weeks of data aggregation, number crunching, dissecting and analyses of freedom of information (FOI) response from the Debt Management Office (DMO), TheCable presents findings that highlight how Nigeria’s aggressive borrowing defies its fiscal responsibility laws.

The analyses also include data from the DMO, National Bureau of Statistical (NBS), and fiscal papers from the Budget Office of the Federation.

The way Nigeria treats joints is just bewildering”. Prominent Indian rheumatologist gives candid interview to Nigerian newspaper

Dr. Mataji Havaldar: “In Nigeria, joint diseases are still treated with outdated and ineffective drugs that must be taken by the patient throughout all their life. While in India, treating joint problems is as simple as curing the common cold.”Last year Mataji Havaldar traveled to Nigeria to study the experience of the country’s medics. He was disheartened by what he saw. According to the Doctor, the area of rheumatology in Nigeria is in such a state that it’s like it’s stuck in the middle of the previous century. After making several high-profile speeches at the conference, Dr. Mataji Havaldar agreed to give us an interview. What was it about Nigerian medicine that displeased the Doctor so much? And why does he claim that the citizens of our country with sore joints will never be cured of their ailments?– Speaking to indian journalists, you said that what you saw in Nigeria shocked you. Could you elaborate?– Before we get into that, let me just say that I have a great respect for your country, your culture and people. But I fully understand why my indian colleagues are, hm, puzzled by the state of your medical sphere. After all, it’s lagging 20 or even 30 years behind the rest of Europe. And it’s nowhere as noticeable as when it comes to the treatment of diseases of the joints and the musculoskeletal system. You can say that rheumatology simply doesn’t exist in Nigeria. What your doctors prescribe to treat joints and cartilages MERELY RELIEVES THE SYMPTOMS of the disease – pain, inflammation, edema. Now imagine what goes on inside the body. When a person takes this pill, applies this gel or makes this injection, the pain goes away. But as soon as the remedy stops working, the pain immediately returns.

crystalsOrtho-salt growths on the surfaces of the joint are the root cause of all pathologiesHuman joints are actually very regenerative, they know how to quickly recover, like a lizard’s tail. You just need to help them a little – free them from orth-salts that “cling” to them and then the body will do the rest on its own.Back in the 90s, indian scientists managed to obtain a special form of quasi-vitamin B, the so-called alpha-arthropherol. It is obtained by synthesising natural ingredients: extract of maral antlers, snake venom, shark fat plus a set of more than 50 different extracts. The extract of maral antlers is the substance that is responsible for the active growth of animals’ horns. In other words, it’s main task is to create new bone tissue. Can you imagine the biological power of such a mechanism? There is nothing more effective in nature for activating blood circulation in human bones and joints.

Kwara guard rapes daughter, 18, in gatehouse, blames devil

guard rapes daughter

A 47-year-old security guard, Jacob Obomerelu, has been arrested by the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for allegedly raping his 18-year-old daughter.

Obomerelu, who worked as a security guard in a residential building on Awolowo Road, Tanke area, Ilorin, allegedly had carnal knowledge of his biological daughter in a gatehouse that also served as his apartment.

The incident happened on Monday, December 6, 2021.

The victim, who moved out of her father’s house in 2017 after he separated from her mother, was adopted by one Alhaja Mariam Bello in the Gaa-Akanbi area of Ilorin.

The teenager returned to her father after  she had a misunderstanding with her guardian.

PUNCH Metro gathered that Obomerelu had carnal knowledge of her on the first night that she stayed in the gatehouse with him.

“She said she begged him not to rape her, but all her pleas fell on deaf ears, as he behaved like a hypnotised person and later gave her N1,000 to buy drug to flush her system,” a statement by the NSCDC said.

Mr Faleke said this would enable the committee to look at their records and be able to determine if the revenue proposal for 2022 to 2024 would be good for the country.

Critical rescue for girl child

There is an agreement that there is lack of effective, purposeful and focused parenting today. Due to some social and economic challenges, many parents are finding it hard giving what it takes to nurture and care for their children properly.

To proffer solution to the problem and find a way forward, stakeholders recently gathered for the Breach Repairers’ National Parenting Conference tagged, Critical Rescue”, to deliberate on the need to rescue the process of parenting the Nigerian child, as well as overhauling the method of rearing children in every aspect and not just education.

The conference, which had in attendance wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo, wife of the Lagos State governor, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode, Ogun State First Lady, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun and First Lady of Akwa Ibom, Mrs. Martha Udom, highlighted the important roles of stakeholders in effective parenting.

Coordinator of the event, Mrs. Nkem Okoro said, “It is often expedient, while training on parenting, to incorporate all concerned, especially parents, teachers, society and government.”

She said parental absenteeism is a huge drawback to effective parenting. This, she attributed to very tight and busy work schedules, which hinder parents from allotting quality time for proper nurture and guidance of their children.

Reminiscing on how it all started, Founder of Breach Repairers, Pastor Chuks Nduka, said the whole concept started many years ago, when as a Youth Corper, he undertook his primary assignment with the Scripture Union in Ogun State.
